Saw her first action of the year in the Second Varsity Four boat for the `Canes, rowing stroke at the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta … Helped UM’s Second Varsity Eight to a third place finish at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships with a time of 7:18.42 … Served two-seat for the Varsity Eight boat at the annual Rivanna Romp in Virginia … Helped guide UM to a ninth place finish out of 23 participating boats, finishing with a time of 13:55.80 … Also served bow for the Second Varsity Four boat in the regatta … Moved to row Varsity Four for UM in the spring-opener against Rochester and Dowling on the Indian Creek Waterway … Served three-seat for the winning crew that crossed at 7:39.84 … Rowed seven-seat for UM in a winning effort (7:11.93) against Connecticut as part of the Second Varsity Eight crew … Served as part of the Women’s Collegiate JV “A” competing for the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy in the San Diego Crew Classic … Rowed stroke for the `Canes who finished third in the race (7:16.92), earning wins over Kansas State and Sacramento State … In the finals, picked up a fifth place time of 7:15.37 on the day … JV8+ rowed their way to a third place time of 6:50.0 as part of the Women’s Erickson Cascade Cup hosted by the University of Washington … Served six-seat for the Varsity Eight crew which finished fifth to earn a trip to the “C” finals at the Aramark Sprints South/Central Regional Championships … Helped team to a time of 6:37.25 in the “C” final the following day.
Freshman (2007-08)
Rowed four seat in V8 “B” at the season-opening Rivanna Romp (Charlottesville, Va.) where team collected a time of 15:15.92 …Team finished third in 2V8 action against UCF … Rowed two seat where the team collected a boat-best time of 6:58.28 … Rowed in 2V8 against Eastern Michigan in the two seat … 2V8 team captured a winning time of 7:24.83 … Stroked bow for the `Canes at the ACC Championships with a time of 7:03.7, good enough for sixth place in Second Varsity Eight … Rowed both Varsity Eight and Novice Eight against Jacksonville … Assisted the V8 “B” boat to a second place and mark and boat-best time of 5:54.7 … In the N8 race, Parrish helped UM to a win over the Dolphins with a time if 6:21.7 … Rowed bow (V8) and stroke (N8) in those races … Sat stroke for the `Canes in the season finale (Aramark Central/South Sprints) in 2V8 with a finishing time of 7:14.40 … Team finished in fifth place in the race.

Rowed for coach Greg Harvie at Dublin Jerome High School in her hometown of Dublin, Ohio … Named to the Honor Roll three years in high school … Rowed stroke and six seat … United States Rowing Junior National Development Camp attendee in 2005 … Team finished 11th in Varsity Four at U.S. Rowing Junior Nationals (2006) … Placed third in V4 at the Midwest Championships that same year … Collected a third place time at the John Hunter Regatta in V8 … Helped team win the Speakmon regatta in Varsity Two in 2006.

Major is Elementary Education and Psychology … Daughter of Mark and Dana Parrish … Has two siblings, Patrick (26) and Melinda (25) … Chose the University because of the academics and because of the reputation it has athletically and academically.

Her first impression of Miami was that she was instantly intrigued by all the opportunities that Miami held and the obvious beauty and culture … Her favorite rowing memory was going to Nationals during her junior year of high school and being able to see all the hard work her team put in paying off for them … Saw the Doobie Brothers in concert at Lake Tahoe over the summer … Says she loves to cook and bake in her spare time.
