Hurricanes Close Out Regular Season at East Coast Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team wraps up the regular season at the East Coast Relays on Friday and Saturday at Hodges Stadium on the campus of North Florida.

The Hurricanes are coming off the Penn Relays where senior Sanaa Hebron set the meet record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.30. Her time broke the meet record of 55.36 set by Michigan’s Savannah Sutherland in 2004 and Hebron became the third Miami sprinter to win the event at the Penn Relays, joining Dominique Darden (2006) and Tameka Jameson (2010).

In the women’s 4×400 meter Championship of America race, the Hurricanes placed fourth as Iyonna Codd, Nandy Kihuyu, Gabriella Grissom and Hebron finished in a time of 3:34.27.

Action gets underway Friday at 2 p.m. with the women’s long jump while Saturday’s events begin at 11 a.m.
