Mauigoa Selected No. 10 Overall by New York Giants

PITTSBURGH — University of Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa was selected by the New York Giants with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night at Acrisure Stadium.

Mauigoa’s selection marked two straight years Miami has featured at least one first-round draft pick; quarterback Cam Ward was selected No. 1 overall by the Tennessee Titans in 2025.

With his selection by the GIants, Mauigoa became the 67th first-round pick in Miami Hurricanes history.

A first-team All-America in his final season at The U, Mauigoa compiled a dominant three-year career that began upon arrival in Coral Gables prior to the 2023 season. The American Samoa native started all 42 games of his career at right tackle for Miami and was an anchor for one of the best offensive line units in the country in all three seasons.

Mauigoa was honored as the ACC’s top blocker when he became the second Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner in program history in 2025. He was selected to the All-ACC First Team after anchoring a group that ranked No. 5 in the nation and led the ACC in fewest tackles for loss allowed per game.

Mauigoa, who became the first Miami offensive lineman taken in the first round since 2015, allowed just one sack in 205 true pass set snaps according to Pro Football Focus (93.7%), which ranked second among all NFL Draft-eligible tackles.

He was an all-conference honoree in all three seasons – earning second-team honors in 2024 and honorable mention recognition in 2023 – and was a 2023 Freshman All-America after a dominant rookie campaign.

The NFL Draft continues through Saturday at Acrisure Stadium.
