Canes Rowing Race Day Central: Lake Wheeler Invitational
RALEIGH, N.C. – Another week, another test awaits.
The 14th-ranked Hurricanes, fresh off a history-making weekend at the Orlando Invitational, will be back on the water Friday and Saturday at the Lake Wheeler Invitational for their final regular-season regatta ahead of next month’s ACC Championships.
The 20-team field in Raleigh features eight conference foes and six teams ranked in the most recent CRCA Top 25 poll, including No. 8 Virginia, No. 13 Duke, No. 14 Miami, No. 15 Alabama, No. 22 North Carolina, and No. 25 Oklahoma.
Rounding out the field are Louisville, Boston College, Georgetown, Navy, West Virginia, Villanova, SMU, George Washington, Kansas, Lehigh, Clemson, High Point, Tulsa and Old Dominion.
The Lake Wheeler Invitational will feature three sessions split over two days, with Miami’s first race scheduled for 9:40 a.m. when the third varsity eight hits the water. Saturday’s races will begin at 9 a.m.
All races from Lake Wheeler will be broadcast via ACC Network Extra.
