Miami Set to Compete at the Historic Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Miami track and field team is set to compete at the historic Penn Relays Thursday-Saturday at Franklin Field.
The Hurricanes are coming off the Tom Jones Memorial and Wake Forest Invitational in which Miami set a school record and five top five marks.
Maddie Scheier broke her school record in the 3000m steeplechase by over 10 seconds with a time of 10:19.72.
In the men’s 200m, Sean Watkins Jr. entered the record books with the third-fastest time at 20.88, and George Franks tied his personal best at 20.92, which ranks fourth all-time.
Jocelyn Pringle improved her second-best mark in the women’s hammer throw with a distance of 62.68m, and Adriana Kruzmane recorded a distance of 13.43m in the women’s triple jump to better her third-best mark. Enrique Borrego set the program’s fifth-fastest time in the men’s 1500m at 3:51.05.
