Miami Extends Win Streak to 10 with 81-69 Win at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team extended its winning streak to 10 as the Hurricanes defeated Notre Dame, 81-69, Tuesday night at the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.

With the win, the Hurricanes move to 15-2 on the year and are 4-0 in ACC play for the first time since the 2022-23 season.

The two teams battled in the first half to a 39-39 tie. The first 20 minutes saw the Hurricanes lead by as many as seven points, 27-20, with 7:44 remaining before the Fighting Irish began to chip away at the lead.

Miami stormed out of the gates in the second half, embarking on a 13-1 run to take a 52-40 lead as Tre Donaldson scored seven of Miami’s 13 points on a pair of layups and a corner 3-pointer. The Canes extended their lead to as many as 13, 71-58, as Shelton Henderson buried a step-back three with 4:08 left in the game.

Donaldson ended the game with a team-high 23 points, eclipsing 1,000 points in his career. The performance marked the third-consecutive game Donaldson has scored at least 20 points. Malik Reneau finished the game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five steals, his fifth double-double of the season.

Henderson registered 17 points as Dante Allen added 11 points off the bench.

The Hurricanes registered 13 steals in the contest, and dominated the point, scoring 40 points to Notre Dame’s 28.

Miami remains on the road as it takes on Clemson on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The game can be seen on The CW and heard locally on the airwaves on 560 AM WQAM.
