Ward Collects Third Weekly Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — University of Miami senior Cam Ward earned his third weekly accolade Tuesday afternoon.

Ward was tabbed an Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week Honorable Mention after also being named Atlantic Coast Conference Quarterback of the Week and garnering recognition from the Davey O’Brien Foundation on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 223-pound quarterback threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns, guiding the Hurricanes to a 52-45 win at Louisville.

Ward became the first Miami player with seven consecutive 300-yard passing games, as the West Columbia, Texas, native leads the nation with 2,538 passing yards.

In the victory, Ward helped the Hurricanes mount 538 yards of total offense, with Miami scoring on seven of its first 10 drives.

For the first time in program history, the Hurricanes hit 50 points for the fourth time in a single season.

With Ward under center, Miami is off to a 7-0 start for the first time since 2017.
