Ward Garners Third Weekly Honor
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes senior Cam Ward collected his third weekly accolade Monday afternoon.
Ward was one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week after also being tabbed Associated Press National Player of the Week and earning recognition from the Davey O’Brien Foundation.
The 6-foot-2, 223-pound quarterback guided the Hurricanes to their second-largest comeback win in program history — a 39-38 victory at California on Saturday.
Ward and Miami erased a 25-point deficit, as the Hurricanes found the end zone four times over the final 18 minutes.
The West Columbia, Texas, native completed 35 of his 53 passes for a season-high 437 yards and two touchdowns. Ward also ran for a 24-yard score in the fourth quarter.
College football fans can follow the Manning Award on social media (@ManningAward) to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. After voting closes on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET, the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
