Miami Ranked No. 8 After Win in ACC Opener
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes checked in at No. 8 in both major college football polls released Sunday.
Miami, which has been slotted as high as seventh in the Associated Press Top 25 this season, climbed one spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll after a 38-34 win over Virginia Tech Friday evening.
The Hurricanes remained the top-ranked program in the Atlantic Coast Conference, joined in the polls by No. 15/14 Clemson and No. 22/22 Louisville.
Up next, Miami (5-0) travels to face new ACC member Cal (3-1) on Oct. 5, which marks the first meeting between the two sides since 1990. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
