Football Ranked in Top 10 of Both Major Polls
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Following a 50-15 rout over USF in Tampa on Saturday night, the Miami Hurricanes moved up in both major college football polls released Sunday.
Miami jumped one spot to No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25, while also rising two spots to No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Sunday’s ranking is tied for Miami’s highest ranking in the AP poll since Oct. 4, 2020, when the Hurricanes also checked in seventh nationally. UM was also ranked No. 7 in that coaches’ poll.
UM is one of three Atlantic Coast Conference programs to land in this week’s rankings, joined by No. 15/17 Louisville and No. 17/15 Clemson.
The Hurricanes open ACC play against Virginia Tech on Friday, Sept. 27 at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
