Miami MTEN Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head men’s tennis coach Aljosa Piric announced the Hurricanes’ 2024 spring schedule Thursday afternoon.

The spring slate features matches against numerous NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago, including a contest against back-to-back reigning national champion Virginia. Five of Miami’s opponents finished the 2023 season ranked in the ITA Top 25.

Miami hosts the annual Miami Spring Invite from Jan. 5-7 to open the spring schedule. A trio of competitive teams from 2023 are set to visit Coral Gables, Fla., for the invitational – Texas, LSU and Arizona State.

The Hurricanes will then host Georgia Southern on Jan. 12 before taking on Wisconsin on Jan. 13. Prior to heading to ITA Kickoff Weekend in Tucson, Ariz., the team will host a doubleheader on April 19 with Buffalo and Mercer.

Miami will then travel to the in-season tournament to play host Arizona and either Baylor or Tulane the next day, in hopes to receive a qualification to the ITA National Indoor Championship in Seattle, Wash.

The Hurricanes face two teams from the state of Florida during the month of February, starting with hosting South Florida on Feb. 4. They will then head to Orlando, Fla., to take on UCF on Feb. 11.

They round out the second month of play with hosting UTSA on Feb. 23 and VCU on Feb. 25, before traveling to Chestnut Hill, Mass., for Boston College on Feb. 28.

ACC play begins the first weekend of March when the Hurricanes travel North to compete at Notre Dame and Louisville on March 1 and March 3, respectively.

The Hurricanes return to Coral Gables for a non-conference match on March 8 against Pennsylvania. Miami returns to ACC action with a four-game homestand. They will face Duke, UNC, Virginia and Virginia Tech on March 15, 17, 22 and 24, respectively.

For their final two road ACC dual matches, the Hurricanes head to Clemson, S.C., on March 28 to play Clemson and then make their way to Atlanta, Ga., for Georgia Tech on March 30.

The Hurricanes’ last dual matches of the season come against NC State on April 5, followed by a match with Wake Forest on April 7. Finally, they host in-state rival Florida State to close out the regular season on April 13.

Just four days later, Miami will head to Cary, N.C., for the ACC Tournament, which will take place from April 17-22.
