Flory Competes in 3-Meter at NCAAs

ATLANTA – University of Miami diver Max Flory competed in the 3-meter springboard event on Friday morning at the McAuley Aquatic Center at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

Flory, who was 26th in the 1-meter springboard on Thursday, finished in 22nd place Friday with 355.50 points on the Georgia Tech campus.

The Fairfax, Va., native ended the round strong, nearly clinching one of eight spots to earn Honorable Mention All-America status. He scored 76.50 points one of the most difficult challenges of his list, a forward 2 ½ somersault 2 twist out of pike position on his final dive.

His second-highest scoring dive of the day came on a forward 3 ½ somersault pike on his penultimate effort, one that scored him 62.00 points.

Alongside teammate Zach Cooper, Flory will also compete in the platform event on Saturday to cap the Hurricanes’ run at the 2022 NCAA Diving Championships.
