Miami Set for ACC Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team is to open its indoor postseason this weekend at the ACC Championships.

The three-day event, hosted by Virginia Tech, will take place Thursday through Saturday inside the Rector Field House.

Miami opens the weekend with the women’s distance medley relay on Thursday at 6 p.m. (ET).

The competition will resume Saturday at noon with the men’s high jump to open the day. Sunday’s action is scheduled to begin at noon with the men’s shot put and women’s triple jump.

Fans can watch all three days of the meet on ACC Network Extra. The schedule will be Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 2:55 p.m. to the conclusion of the session, and Saturday from 12:55 p.m. to the conclusion of the meet. UM enters the weekend after an indoor regular season where it broke 14 program records.

Highlighting the 2022 campaign thus far are Ayman Zahafi, Isaiah Holmes and Hannah-Sophia Hall. The trio of Canes are all currently in the top-16 in the NCAA this season in their respective events. Zahafi is sixth in the 800 meter with a time of 1:47.30, while Holmes is 13th in the high jump at 2.19 meters and seventh in the long jump with a tally of 7.90 meters. Hall sits 13th with a shot put of 17.15 meters.
