Canes Ranked on ITA Singles and Doubles List
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis players Franco Aubone, Benjamin Hannestad and Dan Martin all appeared in the ITA’s first Division I men’s singles and doubles rankings of the spring, announced Wednesday afternoon.
Aubone and Hannestad check-in as the No. 16 doubles team in the nation, having posted a 3-1 record in dual match play and an 11-3 overall record this season. The pair are 3-1 at first doubles and have tallied two wins over ITA top-60 doubles teams.
Graduate transfer Dan Martin moved up 45 spots in the ITA Division I men’s singles rankings, coming in at No. 76. Playing at both first and second singles, Martin holds a 4-1 record in dual matches and a 13-5 overall mark. When playing at first singles, the Laval, Quebec, Canada, native is a perfect 2-0.
Martin is 2-1 against ranked opponents this season with wins over then-No. 16 Trey Hilderbrand (Central Florida) and then-No. 73 Cleeve Harper (Georgia). The graduate student is on a four-match winning streak in singles play.
