Canes Ranked on ITA Singles and Doubles List

CORAL GABLES, Fla.  University of Miami men’s tennis players Franco Aubone, Benjamin Hannestad and Dan Martin all appeared in the ITA’s first Division I men’s singles and doubles rankings of the spring, announced Wednesday afternoon.

Aubone and Hannestad check-in as the No. 16 doubles team in the nation, having posted a 3-1 record in dual match play and an 11-3 overall record this season. The pair are 3-1 at first doubles and have tallied two wins over ITA top-60 doubles teams.

Graduate transfer Dan Martin moved up 45 spots in the ITA Division I men’s singles rankings, coming in at No. 76. Playing at both first and second singles, Martin holds a 4-1 record in dual matches and a 13-5 overall mark. When playing at first singles, the Laval, Quebec, Canada, native is a perfect 2-0.

Martin is 2-1 against ranked opponents this season with wins over then-No. 16 Trey Hilderbrand (Central Florida) and then-No. 73 Cleeve Harper (Georgia). The graduate student is on a four-match winning streak in singles play.
