Hedley Named Preseason All-American

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami punter Lou Hedley was among those selected to the 2021 Walter Camp Football Preseason All-America First Team, it was announced Thursday.

A finalist for the Ray Guy Award honoring the nation’s top punter a season ago, Hedley delivered one of the most dominant seasons by a Miami punter in program history in 2020.

Hedley, who was a second-team All-American by the Associated Press last year, ranked No. 2 in FBS in punting (47.3 yards per punt) and helped the Hurricanes set the FBS record for highest net punting average (minimum 40 punts) at 44.96.

The Mandurah, Australia native was twice named ACC Specialist of the Week and earned second-team All-ACC recognition after his standout season.
