Arreaga Records Season Best at NCAA Championships
EUGENE, Ore. – Kevin Arreaga finished his final outdoor season as a Miami Hurricane with a season-best mark in the men’s hammer throw at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
The senior’s second attempt was his best throw of the year at 69.60m and finished 14th overall. Wednesday’s finish marks the Spaniard’s third USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honor in his career.
Arreaga’s mark on the Hurricane program is unmatched, holding the program records in the hammer at 71.07m and in the indoor weight throw at 21.82m.
The women of Miami will take the track tomorrow starting with Alfreda Steele in the 100m dash at 4:46 p.m. (PT), followed by Kayla Johnson at 5:14 p.m. (PT) in the 800m, Steele again in the 200m and the 4×400 relay to close out the night at 6:48 p.m.
