McMinn Named ACC Track Performer of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Tiara McMinn of the Miami women’s track and field team earned Co-Track Women’s Performer of the Week honors, an announced Wednesday by the ACC office.

In her opening outdoor 100m hurdles event of the season, McMinn ran the fifth-fastest NCAA time at 12.92  to finish third at the Pepsi Florida Relays.

McMinn’s time leads the ACC and she is the lone member of the conference with a top-10 time in the NCAA.

The Miami native also helped the Canes finish second in the women’s 4×100 relay with a season-best time of 43.56 seconds. McMinn ran the anchor leg of the relay, which tied Miami’s fourth-fastest time in program history and ranks as No. 4 in the NCAA.

McMinn is the fourth Cane this outdoor season to earn a weekly conference award, as Zakiya Rashid, McKinly Brown and Russell Robinson all earned the accolade after the opening outdoor weekend.

Miami hosts its final home meet of the season on April 9-10 for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
