CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team is headed to Greensboro, N.C., for the ACC Tournament as the ninth seed in the field.

Following a first-round bye, Miami (15-15, 7-13 ACC) will meet eighth-seeded Clemson Wednesday at noon at the Greensboro Coliseum.

The game will be televised live on ESPN HERE, with Dave O’Brien, Cory Alexander and Allison Williams on the call. Joe Zagacki will have the radio broadcast on 560 The Joe WQAM HERE, while live stats for the contest can be found HERE.

The Hurricanes are 15-14 all-time in ACC Tournament play, including 9-5 at the Greensboro Coliseum, where they won the title in 2013.

Miami is 13-14 all-time versus Clemson, including 2-3 at neutral sites and 7-3 in ninth-year head coach Jim Larrañaga’s tenure. The sides have met just once before in the ACC Tournament, with the Hurricanes earning a 66-63 victory on March 9, 2006, for their first win in the event.

Clemson is the lone ACC team Miami has not played in this calendar year, as the regular season matchup took place Dec. 31, 2019, with the Hurricanes registering a 73-68 overtime road victory.

Miami is coming off a 69-65 overtime triumph against Syracuse Saturday evening at the Watsco Center. Despite playing without junior guard Chris Lykes, the team’s leading scorer, the Hurricanes earned the win in their final game of the regular season.

Freshman guard Isaiah Wong scored a game-high 18 points, while senior guard Dejan Vasiljevic notched 17 in his final home outing and redshirt junior guard Kameron McGusty added 13.

Clemson owns a 15-15 (9-11 ACC) record on the season after dropping three of its past four contests following a three-game winning streak. The Tigers, who own victories over the three highest-ranked teams in the league, are led by junior forward Aamir Simms, a Third Team All-ACC honoree who paces them in points (13.0) and rebounds (7.1) per game.

The winner of Wednesday’s affair takes on top-seeded and fourth-ranked Florida State the following day at 12:30 p.m., live on ESPN or ESPN2.
