Lykes Tabbed an All-ACC Honorable Mention

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Chris Lykes of the University of Miami men’s basketball team is a 2019-20 All-ACC Honorable Mention, as announced Monday morning.

A junior guard from Mitchellville, Md., Lykes averaged a team-high 15.2 points per game in the regular season, good for No. 11 in the league. His team-best 15.6 points per game in ACC play placed him ninth.

Lykes is the first Hurricane to garner conference postseason accolades since 2017-18 when Lonnie Walker IV also earned honorable mention status, as well as made the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Despite missing five games due to injury, Lykes scored in double figures 20 times, reaching the 20-point mark on five occasions. He scored a career-high-tying 28 points, tied for the most by a Hurricane this season, in a thrilling Dec. 2 road win at Illinois.

In addition, freshman guard Isaiah Wong earned three votes for ACC Sixth Man of the Year, an award claimed by Florida State freshman forward Patrick Williams. The complete list of ACC postseason honors can be found below.

Lykes, Wong and the Hurricanes begin postseason play Wednesday at noon in Greensboro, N.C., as they face Clemson in the second round of the ACC Tournament, live on ESPN from the Greensboro Coliseum.
