CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team is set to open ACC action Friday night against No. 45 Clemson.

No. 33 Miami (7-2) will travel to Clemson, S.C., to face the Tigers at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center at 5 p.m. Live stats and video will be made accessible HERE.

In a series that dates back to 1968, the Tigers hold a slight 29-27 advantage over the Hurricanes. Already with six shutouts through nine matches in 2020, Miami is looking to open ACC play with a win for the second straight season. A feat that has not been accomplished since doing so at the start of the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Represented well in the Oracle/ITA singles and doubles rankings, junior Adria Soriano Barrera leads the charge ranked No. 41 in singles. In doubles, sophomore Franco Aubone and junior Benjamin Hannestad form the nation’s 15th-ranked doubles pair, while sophomore Francisco Bastias teams up with Soriano Barrera at No. 53.

The Tigers, currently 6-2 on the year, earned a top-50 ranking in the Oracle/ITA poll, released Tuesday night, for the first time since Feb. 17, 2015. In its most recent matches, Clemson earned a pair of 4-3 nail-biters over Princeton and Georgia State.

Following its matchup with Clemson, Miami will travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech at noon.
