Miami, South Carolina Agree to Home-and-Home Series
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football program announced Tuesday that the Hurricanes have agreed to a two-game, home-and-home series with the University of South Carolina.
Miami will travel to Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C., on Sept. 5, 2026, before hosting the Gamecocks at Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 11, 2027.
“We are excited to add South Carolina to our future football schedule,” Director of Athletics Blake James said. “These two matchups will be a terrific showcase for both fan bases and it furthers our commitment to scheduling top programs for our non-conference slate.”
This will mark the first meeting between the schools since the 2014 Duck Commander Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La. South Carolina won that game 24-21, breaking a six-game losing streak in the overall series, which Miami leads 8-6-2.
The Hurricanes’ last home meeting with the Gamecocks was on Dec. 5, 1987, at the Orange Bowl. Second-ranked Miami defeated No. 8 South Carolina, 20-16, to complete an undefeated regular season en route to the program’s second national championship. The last meeting in Columbia was in 1986, a 34-14 UM victory.
The Hurricanes also have future out of conference games scheduled with Alabama in Atlanta, Ga. (2021), Florida (2024 and 2025), Michigan State (2020 and 2021), and Texas A&M (2022 and 2023).
