NCAA Individual Championships Draws Announced
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The matchups are set for the NCAA Singles Championship and NCAA Doubles Championship, as released Sunday morning.
Top-ranked and top-seeded Estela Perez-Somarriba begins competition in the singles draw Monday at 4 p.m. with a contest against No. 36 Andie Daniell of Alabama.
Doubles play gets underway Tuesday and match times are still yet to be determined. Miami’s No. 13-ranked pair of freshman Daevenia Achong and senior Daniella Roldan will play No. 14 Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner of Tulsa in a top-15 showdown.
Perez-Somarriba is set to make her third appearance in the NCAA Singles Championship and will become the 10th Hurricane with at least that many berths. She reached the Final Four in 2017 and the Sweet 16 in 2018.
Achong and Roldan are both competing in NCAA individual championship action for the first time. They are set to be the first Miami duo to play in the NCAA Doubles Championship since Lina Lileikite and Stephanie Wagner in 2015.
The entirety of both tournaments will take place at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The Tennis Channel will have live broadcasts of action each day, while other matches will be streamed online.
