Mompremier Selected for U.S. Pan Am Games Trials
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Beatrice Mompremier of the University of Miami women’s basketball team is one of 36 players who will participate in the trials for the U.S. Pan American Games Women’s Basketball Team.
Trials to select the 12-member team will take place May 16-20 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Those selected will return there July 23-Aug. 5 for training camp and then compete in the Pan American Games from Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru.
Mompremier is one of 12 participants who has previously medaled with USA Basketball, helping lead her home nation to gold at the FIBA U18 Americas Championship in 2014.
Athletes eligible for the team must be U.S. citizens who are currently enrolled as a full-time collegiate student with eligibility remaining for the 2019-20 school year.
A 6-foot-4 forward who hails from Miami, Mompremier was a First Team All-ACC honoree in 2018-19, her first year playing for the Hurricanes. She set the program single-season rebounding record with 12.2 per game and eclipsed 20 boards in a game twice.
Mompremier was a WBCA Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention, an Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention and a Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award finalist.
