After hosting back-to-back home meets, the Canes travel to Gainesville to take on a field of talented programs with the likes of Alabama, Kentucky,  Georgia, Tennessee, Purdue and plenty more. Miami will feature two student-athletes in Kevin Arreaga and Samantha Gonzalez who lead the nation in their respective events heading into this weekend’s competition.

Arreaga boasts the nation’s leading mark in the hammer throw at 71.07m. The sophomore bested his previous Miami program record which he set over a year ago in his opening outdoor meet of the season. Senior Gonzalez joins Arreaga, leading the country in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.33 seconds. The duo earned ACC Performers of the Week for their top marks.

Arreaga is scheduled to compete in the men’s hammer invite on Friday at 5:30 p.m., while Gonzalez is entered in the 400m hurdles, the 4×200 relay, the 4x400m relay and the 1600m sprint medley relay.

Senior Anne den Otter and sophomore Simone Vreeland will start the competition off for the Canes on Thursday at 9 p.m. as the two are scheduled to run in the women’s 5000m. Sophomore Dylan Sykes will run in the men’s 5000m directly after.

Saturday’s competition will begin with the field events starting at 11:30 a.m. with the women’s discus and will conclude at 7:30 p.m. with the women’s javelin. The Canes will have Debbie Ajagbe, Selina Dantzler, Hannah-Sophia Hall and Zakiya Rashid all competing in the discus.

On the track, the women’s collegiate 400m dash will begin at 2:10 p.m. and will conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay prelims.
