Miami Set to Host Clemson on Sunday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 35 University of Miami men’s tennis team returns to its home court on Sunday to battle Clemson at 10 a.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

In a series that dates back to 1968, Clemson holds a 29-25 advantage over the Hurricanes. The Tigers enter the contest riding a seven-match winning streak over Miami; however each of the past four matchups have been decided by just a single point. Last season, No. 50 Clemson picked up a 4-3 victory over the Canes on March 4, 2018.
 
Entering the weekend, a pair of sophomores represent Miami (7-3, 1-0 ACC) in the ITA national singles rankings, as Adria Soriano Barrera comes in at No. 24 and Bojan Jankulovski sits at No. 75.
 
The Hurricanes enter Sunday’s contest two days removed from knocking off Georgia Tech in the ACC opener, 6-1. The victory marked the first time since 2011 the Hurricanes opened conference action with a win. That season, Miami went on to open the year 3-0, before finishing tied for fourth in the league at 8-3.
 
Clemson (6-5, 0-1 ACC) dropped a 4-0 decision on Friday in its ACC road opener against No. 19 Florida State. The Tigers do not have any ranked singles players or doubles pairs.
 
Following its matchup with Clemson, Miami will travel to Orlando on Sunday, March 3 to take part in Tennis Channel College Match Day against UCF at 10 a.m.
