Rapp Inks Pro Deal with Iceland’s UMF Selfoss
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Former University of Miami soccer standout Grace Rapp has officially signed a professional contract to continue her playing career overseas.
A four-year letter winner at Miami, Rapp has joined UMF Selfoss, who competes in the top Icelandic soccer league, the Pepsi-Deild Kvenna.
“It’s so exciting to actually be able to call soccer my job. Soccer is now something I can fully invest my time into, without the distractions of college classes,” Rapp said. “I get to go kick a ball around every day, in a new country, and it is just so much fun. I never really thought I’d be able to do this for a living – I’m loving it.”

A native of Somerset, England, Rapp played in 70 games as a Hurricane, registering 61 starts. Over the course of her career, she tallied 22 points, scoring seven goals and collecting eight assists.
During her junior campaign in 2016, Rapp started every contest and finished the season with two goals and a career-high four assists, as the Hurricanes made the ACC Championship and set a program record for conference victories (five).
“Miami helped me understand the routine of an athlete. The standards of hours and commitment, which go into college soccer, were definitely set high at Miami and that has prepared me significantly for this lifestyle,” Rapp said. “The teammates I have had at Miami through the years helped keep up my love for the sport, as they continued to make practice and training an environment I wanted to go to everyday. That is something I will continue to look for, whatever team I’m on.”
