Track Honoring Seniors at Hurricane Alumni Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team will honor its senior class and welcome back Hurricanes from the past at this weekend’s Hurricane Alumni Invitational.

The Canes will host a variety of colleges from around the country, including Harvard, UConn, Syracuse and St. John’s, at Cobb Stadium on Friday and Saturday for the second of three regular season home meets this season.

Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. Friday with the men’s decathlon 100m, while the women’s heptathlon 100m hurdles will begin at 11 a.m. Friday will also feature competition in the men’s and women’s shot put, men’s and women’s javelin and men’s and women’s high jump.
 
Saturday’s competition begins at 9 a.m. with the men’s decathlon 110m hurdles, while the women’s heptathlon long jump starts at 9:30 a.m. Field events begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with the men’s and women’s hammer throw, while the action on the track starts at 2:30 p.m. with the women’s 3000m steeplechase.
 
Miami will recognize 14 seniors during the women’s 5000m at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, including men’s standouts Henri Delauze, Sean Grossman, Nathan Kuck, Jaalen Jones and Gian Piero Ragonesi and women’s standouts Amy Taintor, Kristina Knott, Stefani Kerrison and Niara Hill.
