Women's Tennis Heads to Bedford Cup
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team is set to continue its fall campaign this weekend at the Bedford Cup.
Held this year on USF’s campus in Tampa, Fla., the Bedford Cup features players from nearly all the Division I schools in Florida.
Six Hurricanes will be making the trip: sophomore Sara Culbertson, senior Sinead Lohan, junior Ana Madcur, sophomore Estela Perez-Somarriba, junior Daniella Roldan and freshman Ulyana Shirokova.
Competition will take place from Friday through Sunday, with matches starting at 9 a.m., each day. Full draws are set to be announced Thursday night.
Friday will begin with one round of doubles and then one round of singles. Saturday is set to include the final two rounds of doubles action, followed by one grouping of singles matches. The last singles match for each player will take place Sunday.
The Hurricanes are coming off a successful opening weekend in which eighth-ranked Lohan won the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the rest of the team combined to post a 12-7 mark at the Miami Fall Invite.
