Fisher Named to Second U-23 USWNT Camp
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the third time in fourth months, Kristina Fisher of the University of Miami soccer team is set to take part in a U.S. Soccer youth team camp.
A rising sophomore, Fisher has been selected for the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team camp, held July 21-28 in Seattle. She is one of six midfielders on the roster, three of whom are returning collegians.
“I am really proud of Kristina for being invited to her second U.S. U-23 National Team camp since becoming a student-athlete at Miami,” Hurricanes head coach Mary-Frances Monroe said. “She continues to impress and me and she has a very bright future. It is wonderful that she can represent the United States and the University of Miami at camp.”
Fisher’s first U.S. U-23 camp of the year took place April 2-8 in Orlando, Fla. She then participated in the U.S. U-19 camp in Carson, Calif., May 13-20.
This eight-day camp in Seattle includes a match against the WPSL’s Seattle Sounders Women Monday at 9 p.m. ET on the campus of the University of Washington.
A native of Jupiter, Fla., Fisher posted seven goals, six assists and 20 points in her first collegiate campaign, garnering ACC All-Freshman Team and All-ACC Academic Team honors.
