@CanesWTennis Rises to No. 28 Nationally
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team jumped four spots in the latest ITA national rankings, placing No. 28 on the list, as announced Thursday.
Over the course of the last three rankings, the Hurricanes have ascended 17 spots, since being ranked No. 45 on April 11. The No. 28 position is the highest for Miami (12-11, 8-6 ACC) since checking in at No. 27 on March 7.
Miami is 8-2 in its last 10 matches and reached the semifinals of the ACC Championship for the ninth time in 13 years.
The Hurricanes once again have two players in the ITA singles rankings, with junior Sinead Lohan at No. 21 and freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 40.
Additionally, Lohan partners with redshirt senior Maci Epstein in the No. 74 spot on the ITA’s doubles list.
Miami, seeded No. 17-32, opens NCAA Team Championship play May 13 at 10 a.m., when it faces USF, seeded No. 33-48, in Gainesville, Fla.
