Three from @CanesWTennis Featured in ITA Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – As has been the case in each of the last three full rankings releases, the University of Miami women’s tennis team is nationally ranked by the ITA and has two ranked singles players to go along with one listed doubles pair.
Junior Sinead Lohan ascended one spot in the singles rankings and now checks in at No. 13 in the country. She has been in the top 15 since the start of the 2015-16 season.
Freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba, who moved to 15-3 overall and 4-1 against ranked players last week, jumped eight spots to No. 34 nationally, one spot shy of her career high.
In doubles, Lohan joins redshirt senior Maci Epstein in the rankings and the duo holds the No. 64 position.
As a team, the Hurricanes dropped just three spots after splitting a pair of ACC road matches last week. Miami topped Louisville, 5-2, and fell to Syracuse, 4-3.
The Hurricanes will be back in action Friday at 2 p.m., when they host No. 46 Clemson on ACC Network Extra at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
