Elder, Isidora and Jenkins Earn Spots in the 2017 Reese's Senior Bowl
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior football players Corn Elder, Danny Isidora and Rayshawn Jenkins will take part in the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.The announcement came Monday from the Reese’s Senior Bowl. The Miami seniors are three of the 110 players that will compete in the 68th annual event.
Practices for the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl will begin on Jan. 24 and can be seen live on NFL Network. The game will air on NFL Network at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2017 inside Ladd-Peebles Stadium (38,888).
Elder earned an invitation to the game following a 2016 campaign which saw him earn All-ACC Second Team honors. He closed the regular season as the team’s fourth-leading tackler with 69 stops (49 solo). The Nashville, Tenn., native started every game during the 2016 campaign and was responsible for a team-best 12 pass breakups.
Isidora’s invitation to the event came after an All-ACC performance on the Hurricanes’ offensive line. The Weston, Fla., native started every regular season game for the third consecutive season. His 38 straight starts are the most on the squad. In addition, Isidora helped the Hurricanes rush for 157.7 yards per game.
Jenkins received an invitation to the Senior Bowl after he was named All-ACC Honorable Mention. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native recorded 70 tackles, including a team-best 52 solo tackles during the regular season. He also posted seven pass breakups and led the team in interceptions with two during the regular season.
