Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team wrapped up play Sunday at the Bulldog Scramble held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The Hurricanes began the Sunday morning with doubles play, as Dane Dunlap and Christian Langmo teamed up against Princeton’s Tom Colautti and Payton Holden, falling, 3-8.

Simultaneously, Kevin Bondar and Nile Clark battled Georgia Tech’s Cole Fiegel and Andrew Li, dropping a 3-8 decision. Junior Nicolas Genovese also took the court and paired with South Carolina’s Scotty Cameron. The duo forced a tiebreaker before falling, 7-8(3), against Wake Forest’s Dennis Uspensky and Alan Gadjiev.

Immediately following the first round of doubles matches, all five Hurricanes returned to the courts for the final session of singles play.

No. 58 Langmo matched up against Wake Forest’s Uspensky, and the Boca Raton native earned a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-3.

Bondar also walked away victorious in his final match of the weekend, taking down Georgia Tech’s Phillip Gresk, 6-4, 6-4.

Also in singles play, Dunlap dropped his match, 2-6, 2-6, to Georgia Tech’s Fiegel, while Genovese lost, 5-7, 3-6, against Georgia Tech’s Chris Yun. Clark concluded the afternoon facing No. 88 Makism Kan of Wake Forest, falling, 2-6, 1-6.

The conclusion of the Bulldog Scramble wraps up the fall season for the Hurricanes. Miami will open play this spring on Jan. 20, when the Hurricanes face St. John’s at 2 p.m., in Coral Gables, Fla.
