Lomacki and Clark Listed in Final Rankings

University of Miami sophomore Piotr Lomacki and junior Nile Clark ended the spring season ranked in the final 2015-16 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.

Lomacki is No. 50 in singles and partnered with Clark as the No. 77 doubles team in the nation.

Lomacki, from Warsaw, Poland, was the first Hurricane to be selected for the NCAA Singles Championship since 2009. In the tournament, he won his first set, 6-4, then after being down 0-2, made a fierce comeback, but fell short in the second set, 7-6 (2). He then lost the third set, 6-0, to end season. Lomacki opened the spring season ranked No. 23 in ITA singles and was unranked in doubles. He was ranked in the top 40 for 17 of his singles matches this season. The All-ACC Second Team performer led the Hurricanes with 14 singles victories, all at the top position, and he was 6-6 in ACC singles. He defeated five nationally-ranked players, and five of his six ACC wins were in just two sets.

Clark, from Philadelphia, paired with Lomacki in doubles to go 7-6 overall and 3-5 in ACC action. The team played all 13 matches at the second position and defeated a pair of nationally-ranked opponents, in the No. 10 duo from Virginia and the No. 30 pair from North Carolina. Miami’s doubles team debuted on the national list the last week of the regular season, ranked No. 66 in the nation.
