Two Doubles Pairs Ranked; Lomacki Now No. 42
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the second-straight week, the University of Miami men’s tennis team claims a pair of ranked doubles pairs and one singles player in the Oracle/ITA national rankings.
Piotr Lomacki and Nile Clark are ranked No. 75, while Max Andrews and Bernard Tefel appear at No. 83. Sophomore Lomacki remains among the top 50, coming in at No. 42 this week.
Sophomore duo Clark and Lomacki (7-6, 3-5) first paired up on Jan 29 against UCF where they grabbed their first win at home. This season, the duo grabbed two wins over the No. 30 and No. 10 ranked doubles pairs. Clark and Lomacki defeated No. 30 Jack Murray and Brayden Schnur of North Carolina, 6-4. Most recently the pair defeated 10th-ranked Mac Styslinger and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski of Virginia, 7-5.
Andrews and Tefel (6-6, 3-5) appear on the list for the fourth straight week. Andrews and Tefel also defeated a top- 50 pair, downing 12th-ranked Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim of Wake Forest.
No. 42 Lomacki (14-8; 6-6 ACC) has been on the rankings list every week this season. Lomacki, an All-ACC second team performer, boasts a five-match winning streak and five victories over ranked players. Most recently Lomacki defeated No. 55 Simon Norenius of NC State, 6-3, 7-6.
