@CanesWTennis to Host No. 32 Syracuse

CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami women’s tennis team will begin the final weekend of the regular season Friday at 11 a.m., at home at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center against No. 32 Syracuse.

Seventh-ranked Miami (15-4, 10-2 ACC) will be facing a ranked opponent for the 19th time this year. The Hurricanes are 13-4—one match was suspended, with Miami ahead—in the first 18.

Miami and Syracuse have met seven times, with six coming in Coral Gables, and the Hurricanes have earned the victory on each occasion.

The Orange enters the match with two ranked singles players in No. 76 Anna Shkudun and No. 98 Gabriela Knutson. Syracuse (12-6, 6-6 ACC) also has one doubles pair in the national rankings, as Knutson and Valeria Salazar Garza check in at No. 29 in the country.

Syracuse comes to Coral Gables on a four-match winning streak, while Miami has won each of its last 11 contests.

The Hurricanes feature four nationally-ranked singles players, with senior Stephanie Wagner and sophomore Sinead Lohan pacing the group at sixth and eighth, respectively. Sophomore Yolimar Ogando, who has missed the entire season thus far due to injury, is ranked No. 37, and sophomore Wendy Zhang comes in at No. 64.

In doubles, Wagner and Zhang are a season-best eighth in the Oracle/ITA rankings, while Wagner pairs with fellow senior Clementina Riobueno at the No. 66 spot.
