@CanesFutbol Signs Fisher to Grant-in-Aid
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami soccer head coach Mary-Frances Monroe announced Monday the signing of Kristina Fisher to a grant-in-aid agreement.
A forward from Jupiter (Fla.) High School, Fisher is a four-star recruit on Top Drawer Soccer and is set to join the Hurricanes in the spring of 2016.
“We are very excited about Kristina joining our program. You can see her dedication and commitment to playing at the next level by graduating high school early to start with us in the spring,” Monroe said. “This will allow her to work with our returning players and work on her individual development. She has youth U.S. National Team experience and we feel as though she will have an impact right away.”
A four-time selection for U.S. Soccer youth national camps, Fisher is a member of both the Florida ODP Team and the Region 3 ODP Team. She participated in the ECNL PDP Texas Conference in March 2014 and the Nike National Training Camp ECNL this past summer.
Fisher’s club team reached the State Cup finals in 2015, won the championship in 2012 and made the semifinals in 2011.
In addition to her success on the soccer field, Fisher has also excelled in track. She set her high school’s record in 4x100m dash and was a regional finalist in the 400m dash. Fisher is Miami’s first recruit in the class of 2016.
