After learning about junior sprinter Aiyanna Stiverne, freshman sprinter Isaiah Taylor and senior thrower Taylor Gunn in the previous editions of Get To Know U, we get a chance to meet freshman sprinter Myles Valentine.

Q: What has your time at Miami been like so far?
A: So far everything has been amazing. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?
A: My favorite part of being a Hurricane is being a student- athlete and being given the opportunity to be great.
Q: Has anyone taken you under their wing, shown you around and helped with your transition to college? If so, who, and how have they helped you adjust?
A: I feel like everyone on the team has, both coaches and athletes. That’s the best part of being a Hurricane. You’ll never feel like you’re not a part of the family.
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment for you since you arrived?
A: Learning that when I step out of my dorm I WILL SWEAT
Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?
A: Getting my degree and also running some fast times as a Hurricane

Coral Gables is different from my hometown because: It’s 6,000 miles away and the people are nicer
The biggest adjustment from high school to college has been: The humidity
When I committed to the University of Miami, I felt: Accomplished

My favorite moment in my track and field career was: Running 10.3 and making the crowd go crazy
