Lomacki in Finals at USTA Futures
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Miami sophomore Piotr Lomacki and partner Jared Hiltzik have played their way into the doubles finals of the main draw at the USTA Futures in Birmingham, Ala.
The duo took down fourth-seeded Hunter Johnson and Yates Johnson, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 on Friday to move into the finals, where they will face either the top-seeded Cameron Silverman and Wil Spencer or third-seeded Claudio Fortuna and Filippo Leonardi.
Lomacki, of Warsaw, Poland, also played in the singles bracket, but was defeated in the second round by American Alexios Halebian, who was seeded eighth in the event. Lomacki played Halebian to three sets, making a comeback in the second, but came up short, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
