Get To Know U is a series that introduces the newest members of the Miami Hurricane Track & Field family.
After learning about junior sprinter Aiyanna Stiverne and freshman sprinter Isaiah Taylor in the previous editions of Get To Know U, we get a chance to meet thrower Taylor Gunn.

Q: What has your time at Miami been like so far?
A: Amazing. It’s such a blessing to be out here.
Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?
A: The tradition, the pride, and being around some of the best people and athletes in the world.
Q: Has anyone taken you under their wing, shown you around and helped with your transition to college? If so, who, and how have they helped you adjust?
A: One of my fellow throwers, Tiffany Okieme, has definitely made sure that I’m comfortable here.
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment for you since you arrived?
A: The difference in training and training in the mornings.
Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?
A: Being able to work for my Masters and still compete.

I committed to Miami over other schools because: I like the graduate program.
When I think of Miami track and field, I think of: Greatness.
My favorite part of being a Hurricane student-athlete is: The environment, the staff, and the legacy.
If I had to describe the team in one word it would be: Talented.
Coral Gables is different from my hometown because: There are palm trees everywhere!
When I committed to the University of Miami, I felt: in disbelief.
I love track and field because: it’s a team sport, as well as an individual sport, so you get the sense of personal accomplishment along with the feeling of working towards something as a unit.
My favorite moment in my track and field career was: winning Indoor Conference USAs with my team at UTEP.
