Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?
A: Being able to represent what the “U” stands for and knowing the school’s heritage makes all of this an amazing experience.
Q: Has anyone taken you under their wing, shown you around and helped with your transition to college? If so, who, and how have they helped you adjust?
A: Jaalen Jones has shown me around and helped immensely with my transition into college and collegiate athletics. He’s helped me by telling me the mistakes most freshmen make in the first semester and ways to avoid them.

A: The biggest adjustment so far for me since I arrived has to be the waking up for 6:30 a.m. weights in the morning and going to study hall.
Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?
A: I’m most excited for the new lifestyle that I am now adapting to and living with, and my track and field season to start.
Fill in the Blank
I committed to Miami over other schools because: this school has so much history and tradition of success when it comes to sports and one of the best nursing programs in the nation. It was my first and last official visit during my recruitment.
When I think of Miami track and field, I think of: a dynasty in the making. When you talk track and field, Miami’s men program isn’t mentioned among the top. I want to earn a key role on the team that changed that, and brought a new, dynamic and dominating team to the history of NCAA Track and Field.
My favorite part of being a Hurricane student-athlete is: the newly found sense of pride that I now embody when I walk around campus to classes or to practice. Many great athletes have been where I am at now and I couldn’t be more humble.
If I had to describe the team in one word it would be: Destined
Coral Gables is different from my hometown because: Most of the stores aren’t as close as I am used to. Back home, Walmart is less than five minutes by car away and Publix is less than three.
The biggest adjustment from high school to college has been: the different teaching styles of the classes. I’ve never had just lecture classes before.
When I committed to the University of Miami, I felt: a sense of belonging. I knew that this is where I needed to be and call home.
I love track and field because: there is no greater feeling than the moment right before the starter shoots the gun. Your teammate is handing you the baton, it’s the adrenaline rush that shoots through your body that makes you feel invincible.
My favorite moment in my track and field career was: Going undefeated all the way through the state meet in the 100m my senior year of high school.
