Lomacki and Andrews Ranked by ITA Poll
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore Piotr Lomacki and junior transfer Max Andrews have been ranked in the first ITA Poll of the season.
Lomacki is ranked the No. 45 player in the country, while the duo of Lomacki and Andrews was tabbed the No. 48 team.
As a rookie, Lomacki, from Warsaw, Poland, was ranked No. 6 on the 2014 Men’s Preseason Newcomer/Freshman Rankings. He won eight singles matches in the fall and nine in the spring at the top spot, which tied for the team high. He is currently ranked No. 882 in the ATP singles ranking and No. 1099 in doubles prior to 2015 fall season.
Andrews joined the Canes this summer after transferring from Rice University. Hailing from Manchester, England, Andrews was an All-Conference USA selection in doubles as a sophomore. In singles he was second on the team with a 13-8 while playing primarily at No. 2 in the lineup.
Lomacki and Andrews will open their collegiate season this weekend at the 10th Annual UVa Ranked 1+1 Invitational held in Charlottesville, Va.
