@CanesMensTennis Hosts No. 64 Clemson

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis program will continue its 2015 spring campaign on Friday, March 20 when the Canes host ACC foe No. 64 Clemson at 3 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

This will be the 50th meeting between Miami and Clemson, with the Canes posting a 26-23 all-time record against the Tigers. The last meeting came last season, when the Canes travelled to South Carolina and fell to Clemson, 6-1. The Tigers come to Coral Gables with a 9-8 record this year.

The Canes will be looking to bounce back after travelling to North Carolina to face two ACC opponents. The Canes fell in two tough matches against No. 6 Duke and No. 12 North Carolina.

In singles play, No. 74 Piotr Lomacki has led the way for the Canes with eight singles victories. Following closely behind are seniors Wilfredo Gonzalez and Henrique Tsukamoto with six singles victories. Freshmen Christian Langmo and Niclas Genovese and lone sophomore Bernard Tefel each have four singles wins. Freshman Andrew Harrington has three singles victories. Fellow freshman Kevin Bondar has two singles victories. Freshman Nile Clark also has one singles victory.

In doubles play, Gonzalez and Bondar lead the way with a 7-3 record this spring. Senior Tsukamoto and freshman Lomacki also have an impressive 8-4 record. Freshman Clark has five doubles victories, three coming with fellow freshman Alexander Fahnehjelm, one with Harrington and the other with Langmo.

The Canes will be back at home in a week to host two ACC opponents, No. 36 Notre Dame on Friday, March 27 at 2 p.m. and Boston College on Sunday, March 29 at 12 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Attendance is free to the matches.
