Dorsett Named ACC Receiver of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes senior receiver Phillip Dorsett was recognized for his standout performance against Arkansas State Monday afternoon with ACC Receiver of the Week honors.

Dorsett, a Fort Lauderdale native and St. Thomas Aquinas HS alum, hauled in four passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in Miami’s 41-20 win over the Red Wolves.

The 200-yard performance was just the third in Hurricanes football history, and also marked the third most prolific yardage performance by any Miami receiver, trailing just Eddie Brown’s 220 yards (1984) and Wesley Carroll’s 208 (1990).

The senior became the first receiver in the nation this season with three catches of at least 50 yards in the same game, and he became the first ACC player with two touchdown catches of at least 60 yards in the same game since Georgia Tech’s Stephen Hill in September 2011.
