NBA Summer League Update
Former Hurricanes DeQuan Jones and Shane Larkin are putting up big numbers in the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League held in Las Vegas, while Rion Brown, Trey McKinney Jones and Kenny Kadji are also making their presence known.
DeQuan Jones, playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, has notched 14 and 20 points in his last two games, hitting five field goals and one from long distance in each game. In his 20-point outing, he also connected on nine free throws. In his two games, Jones has totaled four rebounds and three steals.
Shane Larkin has played in three games with the New York Knicks, putting up steady numbers each night. He is averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals in 26.6 minutes. He is knocking down 43.3 percent of his shots and is a perfect 3-3 at the free throw line.
In four games with the Hornets, Rion Brown has recorded 16 points, notching a personal-best six points against Sacramento. He has pulled down 10 rebounds, added to his three assists and one steal. He has knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in his 13.0 minutes per game.
San Antonio Spur Trey McKinney Jones is averaging 4.6 points and 1.0 rebounds in his three games in Las Vegas. He has played 10.0 minutes per outing.
Kenny Kadji, playing with the Milwaukee Bucks, has scored two points and grabbed five rebounds in his four games. He is averaging 6.5 minutes per outing.
From July 5-11 the Orlando Magic hosted 25 games of the Orlando League at their Amway Center practice court. The Las Vegas League consists of 67 games between the dates of July 11 and July 21, which are held at both the Thomas & Mack Center and the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Las Vegas. All games will be broadcast on NBA TV, NBA.com, and on the NBA Game Time app.
