MTennis to Face FSU in ACC Championship
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 9-seeded University of Miami men’s tennis team will face No. 8 seeded Florida State University on Thursday, April 24 at 9 a.m. in the first round of the ACC Men’s Tennis Championship held at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The winner of the Miami (14-10, 4-7 ACC) vs. Florida State (17-10, 5-6) matchup will face No. 1 seeded Virginia in the second round on Friday at 9 a.m.
Along with Florida State and Miami, other first round matchups include No. 5 Clemson (19-7, 6-5) taking on No. 12 Boston College (4-15, 0-11), No. 7 Virginia Tech (13-10, 5-6) playing No. 10 Wake Forest (14-12, 3-8) and No. 6 NC State (16-8, 5-6) squaring off against No. 11 Georgia Tech (7-14, 1-10).
In addition to Virginia (20-2, 11-0), teams that received first-round byes include No. 2 Duke (18-5, 10-1), No. 3 North (22-4, 9-2) and No. 4 Notre Dame (18-8, 7-4).
Action in the 2014 ACC Men’s Tennis Championship is set to start at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning and will conclude on Sunday, April 27 at 11 a.m. with the championship match.
