Linder Invited to 2014 Reese's Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. – Miami Hurricanes senior offensive lineman Brandon Linder has accepted an invitation to play in the 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the bowl announced Monday.

The Southwest Ranches, Fla., native started all 12 games along the offensive line for the Hurricanes in 2013. The versatile offensive lineman made nine starts at right guard and three more at right tackle. A second-team All-ACC selection by ACSMA, he helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for a Miami offense that averaged 446.8 yards of total offense and 35.9 points per game.

Linder is the 64th Miami Hurricane to play in the Senior Bowl and the first Canes offensive lineman since Eric Winston in 2006. It is the fifth straight year that the Hurricanes will be represented in Mobile. Last year, current Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Mike James was invited to the Senior Bowl.

The 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl, which is played annually at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium, will kick at 4 p.m. ET on Sat., Jan. 25 and will be televised on the NFL Network.

No. 25 Miami (9-3, 5-3 ACC) will play No. 18/16 Louisville (11-1, 7-1 AAC) in the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Tickets, which are priced at $77 and $82, can be purchased through the UM Ticket Office online, in-person at BankUnited Center (M-F, 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m.) or by phone at 1-800-GO-CANES.
