Football Ranked No. 24 in Coaches Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the first time since 2010, Miami is ranked in the Top 25 as the Hurricanes are tied for 24th in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll released Tuesday.

Miami (1-0), who fell eight points shy of making its AP Top 25 debut, is ranked in either poll for the first time since Nov. 14, 2010, when it was No. 21 in the AP and No. 24 in the coaches polls. It is also the first time that Al Golden has been ranked as head coach.

Following a 34-6 season-opening win over Florida Atlantic, the Hurricanes host in-state rival Florida (No. 12 AP / No. 9 USA TODAY) at noon ET Saturday on ESPN. Miami and Florida are meeting for the first time since 2008 and the first time on the Canes’ home field since 2003, with UM holding a 28-26 all-time series lead.

A small amount of season tickets for the 2013 season are still on sale now at www.CanesTix.com. No single-game tickets are available at this time for the Gators & Canes.
