Ras-Anderica Named to All-ACC Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Miami Hurricanes sophomore Leticia Ras-Anderica was one of 12 golfers named to the 2013 All-ACC Women’s Golf Team, announced Tuesday by the league office. The All-ACC Team was voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

Ras-Anderica, one of four underclassmen on the team, is only the fourth All-ACC selection for the Hurricanes and first since Maria Ronderos in 2011. Tina Miller and Josie Shinn earned All-ACC honors during the Canes’ first season of ACC competition in 2005.

The Moraira, Spain, sophomore posted a team-best 74.34 stroke average as she helped guide the Hurricanes to their first NCAA Regional appearance since 2005. Ras-Anderica posted six top-25 finishes in 11 tournaments, while also finished top-15 four times and top-10 three times.

Virginia’s Brittany Altomare was voted ACC Player of the Year, Duke’s Celine Boutier ACC Freshman of the Year and Duke’s Dan Brooks ACC Coach of the Year.

The Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team makes its first NCAA postseason appearance in eight years May 9-11 at the NCAA West Regional in Stanford, Calif.
