Three Selected to 2013 All-ACC Academic Team
GREENSBORO, N.C — Senior forward Kate Howarth, sophomore goalkeeper Emily Lillard and freshman forward Jasmine Paterson were among the 45 student-athletes selected to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference offices announced.
Howarth, a sports administration major, was named to the Lowe’s Senior C.L.A.S.S Award Watch List prior to her final campaign. The Michigan native, who earned Second-Team All-ACC recognition as a junior, tied for the team lead in goals and ranked second on the team in points.
Lillard, who transferred to Miami after spending her freshman season at Arkansas, is also majoring in sports administration. The Kansas native finished the regular season ranked second in the conference in save percentage (.798) and saves (67). She also ranked second in the ACC with eight shutouts.
Paterson, one of the young stars on a team that qualified for its second consecutive postseason appearance, is majoring in art. The Key Largo, Fla., native, who earned All-ACC Freshman Team at year’s end, ranked second on the team in points.
